In today’s news, educational funding helps children in Africa, United States scientists develop ways to predict forest fires, Japan’s world’s fastest computer helps solve global pandemic, offshore wind development increasing in Netherlands, Yemeni doctor provides free consultations for people in need, Chinese food tech company introduces vegan crayfish, and barn owls thrive in United Kingdom.

Education of vulnerable children supported during coronavirus pandemic.

The Global Partnership for Education, an international fund dedicated to education in developing nations, has provided US$60 million for five grants to be used to assist distance learning in five countries strongly affected by school closures due to the pandemic. As many as 30.5 million children in Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda and Zambia will benefit. In addition, a US$7.5 million fund was approved to ensure countries share best learning practices, especially to aid girls and youngsters with special needs. The initiative will help facilitate remote education through radio, television and online platforms. Psychosocial support to children in need will also be provided as well as safety measures and preparation for the re-opening of schools. Our accolades and appreciation, Global Partnership for Education. May Heaven bless all children with excellent educational opportunities in a world filled with kindness, in God’s love.

Researchers develop artificial intelligence algorithm to predict wildfires.

Scientists from Stanford University in the United States, have been able to develop a system to map out and show areas in 12 states where wildfires are more likely to start. The model obtains data from sensors in space and newer satellites to calculate the live fuel moisture content (LFMC) and plot it on a map. Traditionally, the LFMC was obtained by hand testing different areas, but this was labor-intensive and it was not possible to sample such a large region. The method will allow fire personnel to better prepare for future outbreaks and perform protective measures in advance. This research has been published in the Remote Sensing of Environment Journal. Thank you, Stanford University scientists, for your intelligent system. In Heaven’s light, may your helpful technology soon be available to all regions of the world, so more lives and the environment can be safeguarded.

Up next, Japan utilizes world’s fastest computer to help solve global pandemic. We pause to thank precise layout workers, who mark the reference points on pieces of metal so they can be made into useful machine parts. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more outstanding news. Hallo, adventurous viewers, I am Fiona the vegan Red Fox . I want to believe you have a compassionate heart. Can you help me by going vegan? I have a tip to share with you. If you eat something very spicy and need to cool down your mouth, don’t drink water or soda. For relief, try oily foods or even swish a little olive oil in your mouth. Even a spoonful of peanut butter will do. Chips, rice or bread might also help. The burning caused by hot peppers comes from a compound called capsaicin. Foods high in oil dissolve it, so they reduce the burning. Bulky foods like bread can help absorb it. Drinking water will just spread the burning to other parts of your mouth. Thank you for your attention and love you a lot for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now, the worldwide weather.

World’s fastest supercomputer to help look for COVID-19 cure.

Named Fugaku (or Mount Fuji), the supercomputer, which is 2.8 times faster than the next fastest model in the United States, will be used to research the coronavirus, including assisting in identifying treatments from 2,000 medicines already existing. Fugaku, developed by multinational Japanese tech company, Fujitsu, and government-backed research institution, Riken, can perform 415,000 trillion calculations per second. The US$1.2 billion supercomputer has already simulated how breath droplets spread and can also be used for other types of complex tasks such as modeling climate systems and more. Japan is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection and Generosity laureate. What an amazing advancement, Japan, Riken team and Fujitsu! May Fugaku be successful in aiding the search for a COVID-19 cure, in the wisdom of the Divine.

The Netherlands approves one of the globe’s largest offshore wind farms.

To be constructed by Swedish government owned power company, Vattenfall, the Hollandse Kust Zuid project will power over two million Dutch homes. Expected to be operational by 2023, the plant will consist of 140 turbines and provide 1.5 gigawatts of power. It will also facilitate economic growth as well as create jobs both during construction and for the long-term operation of the site. The Netherlands is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Humanitarianism recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Earth Guardian and Animal Protection laureate. Way to go, Netherlands and Vattenfall, for your significant contribution to the renewable capacity of the Netherlands. In Heaven’s grace, may sustainable energy production continue to expand as the world moves ever closer to green living.

Altruistic physician provides free medical care in Yemen in the wake of COVID-19.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dr. Sami Yahya al-Hajj has a sticker on his car’s rear window printed with the words, “stop me if you need a medical consultation.” He provides complimentary medical advice on the streets of Yemen’s capital city, Sanaa, during his commute to and from work. The caring doctor launched his project via social media after receiving text messages from individuals seeking medical advice who could not afford to go to a hospital. Dr. Al Hajj realized that there must be people in need who do not have access to social media, and thus began his mobile medical service. He said, “We must safeguard and maintain the health of the poor, because their health is part of the whole community.” We humbly salute your noble spirit and loving actions, Dr. Sami Yahya al-Hajj. May Allah forever bless you and the gracious Yemeni people with peace, good health and plenitude, in Celestial benevolence. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Thankfully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Dr. Sami Yahya al-Hajj, and US$10,000 in humble supportof your noble work and caring heart in assisting your vulnerable co-citizens, with high esteem and gratitude. May you and all those you help ##be always protected in the loving embrace of Allah.”

Coming up, Chinese food tech company introduces vegan crayfish. It’s time for us to search online for a fun new skill or hobby that we always wanted to learn. More pleasant news coming up on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Beneficial News for an Ideal World.

Startup in China produces vegan crayfish to replace animal products.

Chinese food tech company Zhenmeat has released a vegan crayfish made from konjac and seaweed extract. The founder and CEO of the company, Vince Lu, explained, “…the meat industry has many problems, including food safety, expensive prices, environmental degradation, and animal rights. Zhenmeat is solving these problems by providing delicious, unique, and localized plant-based meat alternatives.” The company has also introduced deep fried vegan pork tenderloin that is specially created for hot pot restaurants in the nation, as well as plant-based beef mince and more. Big Idea Ventures, a plant-based protein investor, has recently made Zhenmeat its first overseas investment. Kudos, Zhenmeat! Best wishes as you help more people switch to the vegan way, in Buddha’s compassion.

Love from humans help barn owls thrive.

In the United Kingdom, the iconic barn owl with its heart-shaped face, has made a spectacular comeback thanks to nest boxes set up by people throughout the country. In fact, as many as 80% of barn owls currently use the boxes. The population increase of the gentle owls has been supported by conservationists such as Colin Shawyer, who established the Barn Owl Conservation Network in 1988, with the goal of doubling their numbers by 2020. The group has installed more than 20,000 boxes, with Mr. Shawyer setting up 4,000 himself. He said, “It’s still a great privilege to get up to a box and see it’s being used, with five chicks looking out at you.” There are now an estimated 12,000 breeding pairs in the UK, an increase from around 4,500 such couples in 1987. Great news and thanks, Colin Shawyer, Barn Owl Conservation Network and United Kingdom citizens! In Divine jubilance, may the lovely barn owls flourish along with all of God’s precious children, as humans assume their rightful role as loving stewards of our precious planet.

They say cheerfulness is like sunshine for your mind, so let’s lighten up with a joke of the day entitled “Coincidental.”

Having looked the other way for weeks, the boss finally called Smith into his office for a sit-down.

“You know, Smith, I noticed that every time you have to take your dear old aunt to her doctor’s appointment, there’s a home game over at the stadium.”

“Wow, sir. I guess you’re right.”

“I didn’t realize it. You don’t think she’s faking it, do you?”
