The government of South Korea has taken a landmark step in animal-people rights education by introducing a dedicated textbook, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The material covers topics such as animal-persons’ rights and ethical treatment, aiming to foster empathy, responsibility, and respect for life among students. As part of this initiative, animal-folk welfare content had already been implemented into elementary and middle levels and is now being expanded to high schools. By bringing animal-people welfare into formal education, the program seeks to connect classroom learning with real-world responsibility and strengthen awareness of humane treatment. Officials hope the curriculum will help cultivate a generation of responsible citizens who value and protect all animal-individuals. South Korea has a total of nine Shining World Leadership Awards to date for Compassion, Peace, Protection, and Virtuous Government. Kudos, South Korea, for thoughtful care for our animal-people. In the Most High’s Upliftment, may all students continue to nurture compassion and respect for all animal friends.
