“People say that I’m bewitching you. Yes, yes, yes! It’s true. I’d like to charm the Prince back to the God-Kingdom.”
One desolate evening under the setting sun, here and there an intimate melody echoes. One’s soul follows each musical tone, floating with each droplet of sound such that even the sun is moved to shed tears and flowers weep. One’s heart endlessly pines for the memory of the beloved, whose precious hands once glided on ivory keys, resonating words of adieu.
“On a sunlit evening, a yellow butterfly wanders From your house, the piano forlornly resonates. An ancient soul weeps anew amidst melodies The source of sadness, do you still remember? So clearly I heard the lamenting eve O from your lonely fingers arrive golden tunes! Alas unwittingly you plucked the strings of my heart, Past loving memories returned this eve Once there was an evening traveler In the piano echo, your silhouette lingered forevermore O adoring eyes, silent brows, and long lashes, A fair maiden’s hair, sad as a flowing stream Snow white hands on the ivory keyboard glide And the sorrowful heart melts away with teardrops. Won’t you end that lovely melody, darling? For our farewell to be softened. Don’t let your eyes be tinged with sadness So my heart ceases yearning for the homeland. This eve, sunlight shines on the wall in desolation The breeze stirs from the flutter of butterfly wings. See you not the loneliness of the rippling waves, In my very heart music echoes From your house, the piano forlornly resonates.”
Human fate is short-lived and illusory, thrusting humanity into the cycle of birth and death. Which is illusion? Which is real? The heart asks itself many a time.
“Last night I dreamt I was reciting the sutra Awakened, I suddenly realized I was the moon! All the grains of sand in the Ganges The equivalent of lifetimes of transmigration! Wandering, karma-ridden, pitiable... Bird was singing, and dawn already arrived Time concealed all our hopes Naively we’ve been in deep slumber since eons ago
The beautiful night was filled with dreams But now I already entered this earthly realm Tonight reciting the Diamond Sutra Illusory emptiness and existence, all shared with all beings In the dream, I saw a sparkling flower Now awakened, I smiled to myself Opening my arms, embracing the world of suffering But the heart knows of trepidation from countless lifetimes! In the olden days bewildered was Chuang Tzu Between himself and the butterfly, who was looking at whom? Now that spring comes, the spirit’s grieving Faded garment, as faded winters... Let’s give us a rose For adornment in the midst of this river of life Its fragrance permeated with universal love I am mesmerized with passages from the old scripture.”
The preaching of Truth is a raft that takes us back to the Shore of Awakening, like a vehicle that takes us out of the worldly house burning in the flame of greed, desire, anger, and unawareness. Upon hearing of such wonders, people in this mundane realm could be thinking that it is mere deception, but the pledge of a Bodhisattva (Saint) is to save beings regardless of unfortunate ignorance. One day, the blessing rain shall fall evenly on humanity, and the seed of compassion shall be absorbed and thrive all around the planet.
“People say that I’m bewitching you. Yes, yes, yes! It’s true. I’d like to charm the Prince back to the God-Kingdom,
For what is the good Of dragging out your weary existence on this humiliating planet While wasting away your bewildered soul. Come, my precious! - The lost Angel in this dusty realm Come, let me take your hand
To the faraway land To the future resplendent, remote Where the dust at your heels is glittering gold And the ground under your feet is pure jewel-filled gladness.
Once you know the wonder of it You’ll ‘die’ with joy. And this low-vibe world That you so praise and enjoy Will quietly disappear from your heart, Melt in the vastness And empowering power Of true Love Splendor.
Oh, My dear Soul All this and more I you promise! I promise you! ...”
The yearning for love, even if for just a moment, can live on forever. Although the flower of love only blossoms once, its fragrance still lingers, reminiscent of a time of innocence.
“To be able to love you, I thank the Heavens. To be able to love you, Is for lives to remember.”
“Let us love each other Like the first time we met Let us find one another So that love will endure... Let us remember each other As when love was new Let us love one another Since our years are few!
To be able to love you I thank the Heavens To be able to love you Is for lives to remember If through a lifetime We 'chance' to love someone Our hearts will be humble In the realm of true amour And forget life's transience!...
I love you today Even if we part on the morrow's night I offer an eternal heart I offer my lasting love I love you today Even if we part on the morrow's night I offer an eternal heart I offer my lasting love”
