NATO [North Atlantic Treaty Organization] plans a new command structure that places the German-Netherlands Corps in charge of defending Latvia and Estonia, enabling faster deployment of German and Dutch troops in a crisis with Russia. The shift divides responsibilities now held by a single headquarters in Szczecin [Poland] and is intended to improve rapid reinforcement across the Baltics, a region officials describe as geographically exposed. Military sources say the added corps would allow NATO to bring in “mass at speed,” though the final troop numbers and timeline remain unclear (Kyiv Independent)
The UK and Poland sign a new defense pact in London [UK] to deepen military, industrial, cyber, and security cooperation— including developing next-generation weapons, expanding joint land exercises, and increasing the use of uncrewed systems to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank—as both governments warn of escalating Russian aggression (France 24)
Europe is building a series of massive mountain and undersea “mega-tunnels” to create a fast, continent-wide high-speed rail network that can compete with short-haul flights, despite soaring costs and long delays, as the EU [European Union] treats these projects as strategic investments for connectivity, economic growth, and emissions reduction (Thời báo VTV)
United Nations FAO [Food and Agriculture Organization] warns that fertilizer-price spikes driven by Middle East conflict and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz are pushing global agricultural costs sharply higher, forcing farmers to scale back high-input crops like wheat and raising the risk of a worldwide food security crisis (Thời báo VTV)
Hot summer weather triggers hives flare-ups, causing itchy red rashes that disrupt daily life and sleep. Doctors attribute the worsening symptoms to heat, sweating, stress, and immune changes. Experts recommend cooling down by staying hydrated, eating lighter meals, and avoiding spicy foods and alcohol. Managing stress and seeking medical advice for chronic cases are crucial for addressing underlying triggers (Báo Sức khỏe và Đời sống)
Experts at University of Nevada, Las Vegas [US] say that aerobic exercise slows Parkinson’s disease progression by lowering inflammation and boosting the protective brain protein BDNF [brain-derived neurotrophic factor], which helps damaged neurons survive. The intervention offers hope to over 1 million Americans, with experts recommending sustained activities like cycling, dancing, or brisk walking (SciTech Daily)
Loneliness may weaken older adults’ baseline memory scores but does not appear to accelerate long-term mental decline. A European study tracking 10,000 seniors over 7 years reveals that lonely participants’ cognitive health fades at the same pace as socially active peers, suggesting isolation may not directly drive dementia (SciTech Daily)
An early-season heatwave triggers repeated power outages across Turin, Italy, straining the city’s aging grid, cutting power to several neighborhoods and knocking out traffic lights. Officials warn of more outages, open public cooling spaces, and say the grid needs major investment as extreme weather grows more frequent (Reuters)
Eleven people, including nine children, die in open water [rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and coastal areas] across the UK during a record late-May heatwave. Water safety experts link the deaths to cold water shock, warning that open water stays dangerously cold even in extreme heat, as the UK Health Security Agency issues amber heat-health alerts [meaning significant impacts are likely across health and care services] across much of England (The Watchers)
A study published in the journal Nature warns climate change could increase the number of storms with large hailstones by 38% to 47% by century’s end depending on the amount of greenhouse gases emitted in coming decades. Regions like Argentina, Europe, Canada, and the US Northern Great Plains face the most significant risks (AP)
A debate intensifies in Washington state, Oregon, and Idaho in the US as officials consider a large-scale cull of thousands of sea lion-folks blamed for heavy predation on declining Columbia River salmon-people runs, while critics argue the animal-individuals are being scapegoated for a crisis driven by dams, habitat loss, overfishing, and climate change (Daily Mail)
A Chinese app called Zaimezaime, meaning “Are you there?”, has been redesigned with government support into a safety tool for older adults living alone, using daily check-ins, emergency alerts, and a simplified interface as China’s rapidly aging population and rising rates of solitary living heighten concerns about isolation, health risks, and elder protection (VTC News)
Engineers at Monash University in Australia have built the world’s first fully integrated light-based nanocircuit capable of generating, routing, and reading data simultaneously using quantum light signals instead of electricity. The chip operates at room temperature and demonstrated it could process two images at once. Researchers say the breakthrough could sharply reduce power demands for artificial intelligence systems and global data centers (SciTech Daily)
US-based vegan and alcohol-free brand Arkay Beverages launches Beyond Whisky to target the booming global zero-proof market. The product delivers traditional whisky flavor to wellness-focused consumers, bars, and retailers worldwide (Food Ingredients First)
UK restaurants increasingly adopt egg-free mayonnaise to streamline kitchen operations and meet broad flexitarian demand. Persistence Market Research projects the global vegan mayonnaise market will nearly double by 2033 (On: Yorkshire Magazine)
Vegan ice cream sandwiches are becoming increasingly seen in freezer aisles across the US as dairy-free brands offer diverse, nostalgic treats. Longtime leader Tofutti joins brands like So Delicious, Jolly Llama, and Cosmic Bliss in utilizing coconut, oat, and avocado milk bases, while major grocers stock affordable store-brand versions (VegNews)

While off duty, he uses cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR] and a defibrillator to revive a 15-year-old student who collapsed during an April track meet (WCVB)
New Jersey [US] resident Brandon Farrell climbs into a sewer to rescue trapped ducklings one by one after they fall into a drain. His wife records the viral rescue, and animal-people welfare officers successfully reunite the babies with their mother (PetHelpful)
Thoughtful quote of the day: “Don’t be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.” – Dale Carnegie Noted American Writer and Teacher (BrainyQuote)
Previously in Parts 1 and 2 of Gabe Poirot’s near-death experience, Gabe described how a skateboarding accident left him lifeless on the pavement, with his skull cracked from the top down. He flatlined, was resuscitated, and remained in a non-responsive coma for 18 days. Yet from the moment of the accident, Gabe says he slipped out of his body, was drawn upward by a Light that was not a thing but a person, and was brought before Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) There, he experienced Heaven as Christ Himself, saw time held in His hands, saw vision-like moments from scripture, and saw the prayers people on Earth were praying for him. After Lord Jesus Christ told him his time was not up, Gabe woke from an 18-day coma with his memory restored. Now, Gabe explains what changed after he came back.
Before this encounter, I did have ministry, and I did have a YouTube channel, and I did preach Jesus, and I did love Him, really. I also equated God’s Blessing to earthly possession, which is not OK. But at the time, if people were going through a tough time, I thought, well, maybe if you just practice this tithe or this seed or this thing, that maybe God would bless you more, works-based teachings. And those things, from my encounter with Christ, I realized all I needed in life was Jesus. Jesus plus nothing. And I can be blessed even if I don’t have all the things of the Earth.
The encounter didn’t just change what Gabe believed — it changed how he treated people. He describes a moment on a basketball court that captures what that transformation looks like in practice. A guy threw me to the ground, throwing a punch, basically, at me. The whole court stopped because they thought we were about to fight. But I looked at him right in the eyes. I said, “Man, is everything OK? I’m sorry. I must have crossed you somehow. Everything alright?” He was speechless. He had his hands up, ready to fight me. He walked away. Five minutes go by. He comes back, almost tears going down his eyes. He says, “I don’t understand. Why are you kind to me? Why are you forgiving me? I was about to punch you in the face.” And I said, “Man, I dealt with anger issues before in my life, too. I love you, brother. I don’t fault you at all. Is everything OK?” He told me, “You don’t know this, but I just lost my passport. I don’t have a job anymore. And I’m not actually, I don’t have an issue with you. I’m just angry at everyone right now.”
And there on the basketball court, he ends up praying with me in front of everyone. He doesn’t even care because he prays with me, and he commits his life to Christ, to faith. And it’s kind of like a wild situation, right? That’s, like, not supposed to happen, if somebody throws you to the ground and tries fighting you, and now you’re praying with them. But that’s how His Love operates.
When asked what the biggest shock will be for people when they finally see Lord Jesus face to face, Gabe had a message he wanted to deliver first. Well, I invite them, before they come to that day, before they come to the end of their life on Earth, say, “Yes,” to Him today. Repent of their sin today. Return from your own way today, and turn to Him today. He’s alive. The grave is empty. So, receive Him today. And I’ll say, the biggest shock, when they see Him that day, they’re going to be stunned, speechless, in awe of the Love that He is. Not the Love that He’s considering to have, the Love He is.
He’s the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And His Love is eternal, infinite. But the grace of this Earth is finite. And the time we do have is short. We should never count on tomorrow. But we should give Him our life today. Everything. And giving Him our life doesn’t mean we have to be good enough for Him. Giving Him our life just means we give Him what we have. However little or much of a failure we feel like we are, give it to Him. However broken you feel, give it to Him. He’ll save you. (Lila Rose)
