The satyagraha, or “holding onto truth” movement, united people in nonviolent actions to achieve change for the betterment of society. People across the country’s spectrum joined in full support. The supporters faced many dangers during the protests, but in accordance with Mahatma Gandhi’s principle of nonviolence.
