In today’s news, Japan contributes humanitarian assistance in African countries, Germany welcomes migrant families staying in Greece, unsold beer turned into biogas in Australia, United States engineers create sign language-translating glove, woman in India makes selfless sacrifices to prevent road accidents, vegan hotel opens in Greece, and Chihuahua in United States saves human companion’s life.

Japan extends humanitarian aid to refugees and internally displaced people.

Japan, a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection and Generosity laureate, announced further humanitarian assistance of US$4.8 million, through the Emergency Grant Aid, for refugees and internally displaced persons across Burkina Faso, Chad and Niger. In addition to supporting COVID-19 healthcare efforts, the grant will be used to improve access to other medical services and water, provide shelter, and make mental care available for vulnerable individuals. The International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Organization for Migration, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will be responsible for implementing these measures. Our appreciation, Japan and cooperation organizations. We pray for the wellness and protection of all our displaced brothers and sisters, in Heaven’s compassion.

Germany accepts migrants staying in Greece.

Germany, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion and a Shining World Caring Leadership Award laureate, recently welcomed over 80 migrants who had been staying in overcrowded asylum camps in Greece. Comprised of families with sick children from Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Somalia and Syria, the newcomers were flown to Germany, where they will be provided with housing and medical support. According to Germany’s Federal Minister of the Interior, Building and Community, the country’s welcoming of the migrants is part of a March 2020 pledge made by Germany and other European Union nations to accept around 1,600 vulnerable migrants from refugee camps on Greek islands. Our gratitude, Germany, for showing your loving care in times of need. May all those you aid have stable homes and health to build their dreams, in God’s boundless mercy.

Up next, unsold beer becomes biogas in Australia. We pause for a moment to thank the import-export specialists for facilitating shipments that cross international borders. When we return, more helpful news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!

Hi generous viewers! I’m Joelo the vegan Drake. The exciting vegan journey of a thousand miles begins with a single plant-based meal. What are you waiting for? Take your first step now and go vegan! I have a car navigation tip for those of you who drive an electric vehicle. In response to the growing trend in electric vehicle usage, Google Maps has recently added a feature that allows you to search for the nearest electric vehicle charging location by simply typing “EV charging stations” into the navigation search bar. And that’s not all! You’ll be able to know if the charger is available or in use, and search according to the plug type your car has. Thank you for tuning in and love you a lot for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now for the weather around the globe.

Stale beer converted to biogas energy in Australian state.

After the COVID-19 lockdown led to the shuttering of restaurants and pubs, breweries in Australia have donated expired beer to the Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant, west of Adelaide in the state of South Australia. Nearly 40,000 gallons have been added to the biogas mix per week, thus contributing to renewable energy production that powers the water treatment facility. It turns out that the beer, with its high caloric content, had the properties to boost the plant’s biogas production to new heights, achieving 654 megawatt-hours in one month – enough to power 1,200 homes. Great idea, Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant and all involved. May we see even more resourceful solutions as these during this time, in the grace of the Providence.

Smart gloves translate sign language into speech.

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles in the United States have invented a glove that can simultaneously translate American Sign Language into English without a human translator. The wearable device is made from a durable, stretchy polymer material, with sensors along each finger to detect the wearer’s hand motions. These signals are then sent through a tiny electronic chip to a smartphone application, where they are processed into English. Designed with inexpensive and lightweight materials, the glove could increase the convenience and quality of life for hearing-impaired individuals. The device has successfully translated 660 signs and has already been tested with four American Sign Language users. Kudos, University of California, Los Angeles engineers, for this remarkable and thoughtful invention! In Divine creativity, may many more miraculous technologies arise in a compassionate world.

Heroic woman stands in downpour for seven hours to save lives.

After removing a manhole cover to help drain quickly-rising, dangerous floodwaters, 50-year-young Kanta Muruti Kalan from Mumbai, India, stood by the open manhole from 6am to 1pm to warn others and avert potential accidents. However, while standing guard, the caring woman’s own tent, belongings, and tuition savings for her daughters’ online schooling were swept away by the floods. Ms. Kalan earned nationwide acclaim after a video of her valiant efforts was posted on social media. Shortly after, an online fundraising campaign for Ms. Kalan raised more than US$2,000 within a few hours. When lauded, the humble lady said, “I just did what felt right to me.” We salute your touching example of selfless sacrifice, Kanta Muruti Kalan. Heaven bless you and your family, as well as the kind and supportive fellow citizens. May noble deeds always prevail in Celestial jubilation.

Coming up, vegan hotel opens in Greece. We’ll spend some time now to enjoy a lively traditional folk performance called Namsadang Nori, a UNESCO-inscribed Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity from Korea. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Refreshing News for a Rejuvenating World.

First vegan hotel opens in Greece.

With veganism and eco-living being among Europe’s fastest growing trends, Greece’s first totally vegan hotel recently opened on the beautiful island of Mykonos. Created by the island’s native Kontiza family, the hotel is called “Koukoumi” meaning “sheltered” or “place for relaxation.” The menu features Greek-style vegan food and organic raw dishes with minimally processed ingredients, abundant fresh vegetables, and delicious desserts and sweets. The beautiful hotel is constructed in traditional Mykonian architecture, and has 14 suites with eco-friendly mattresses, solar-powered water heating, and a soothing magnesium mineral pool. Other services include vegan beauty treatments, daily group exercising, and more. Congratulations, Koukoumi, on offering a wonderful oasis of refuge through your peaceful vegan ideals. May ethical holidays soon be the norm everywhere, in Divine bliss.

Stroke-affected man saved by his Chihuahua.

Rudy Armstrong, an 86-year-young Navy veteran from North Carolina, United States, started his usual morning routine in his houseboat, when he soon felt sick and couldn’t move. Realizing he was having a stroke, Mr. Armstrong told Bu-Bu, his Chihuahua terrier companion, to find the dockmaster Kim Whittaker. After a few minutes, Bu-Bu returned with Ms. Whittaker, who called emergency services, upon being alerted by Bu-Bu’s unusual behavior. Reunited with his friend five days later after staying in the hospital, the grateful man said, “She’s a really smart dog… Missed her so much…” Big love and cheers, clever Bu-Bu. We’re so glad for the special bond between you and your beloved human companion, Mr. Rudy Armstrong, and also thanks to Ms. Kim Whittaker for your life-saving response. May you all be blessed with health and happiness, in Heaven’s delight. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Joyfully present the Shining World Hero Award to Bu-Bu, plus a loving US$2,000 for vegan treats with big hugs and praises. May Heavens shield you and your human caregiver forever.”

Here’s a daily dose of pleasantry to lift your spirits. It’s entitled “Viewpoint of a Gentleman.”

“Honey, do you think I gained weight?”

“No, I think the living room got smaller!”

And now we have a heartline from Monica Wu in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

Most Revered Supreme Master Ching Hai and Supreme Master TV team,

I’m an elderly person who has undergone longtime struggling in life. At the most desperate moment, I found a completely enlightened Master, and entered the divine circle of practicing the Quan Yin Method and started to learn to be a saint. It’s the biggest fortune of my life. Year after year, I’ve been following Master to practice spiritually, and through keeping precepts and meditation, I’m renewed, purified, and growing day by day. My soul travels freely in Heavenly bliss and experiences the satisfaction and happiness that I’ve never felt before.

The truthful, benevolent and beautiful constructive programs full-of-positive energy, which Supreme Master TV have produced with the utmost care, reveal the endless truth and mystery of nature and the Universe, and the ultimate noble goal of spiritual and artistic life to construct a temple of art and spirituality, a paradise on Earth, a beautiful planet of love and peace, which is the very world that the souls of all beings have been longing for from the bottom of their hearts. God has already created me eons ago. We're now in the 21st century. I’m awakened to understand the true meaning of life and living, the sacred connotation of the real diversified education, the boundless true Love and the extraordinary and selfless sacrifice of a Universal Supreme Master.

I will forever follow Master’s noble example and remember the greatest benefit and highest achievement created by the common consensus and unified actions of the Quan Yin family – World Vegan, World Peace. I will practice persistently and walk on the path of divine living and study, so as not to spend this life in vain. My eternal gratitude to Supreme Master’s noble teachings and to the sincere devotion of the Supreme Master TV team. Monica Wu from Taiwan (Formosa)
