On December 19, 1958, Maria made her debut in a gala performance at Paris Opera with the then French President, His Excellency René Coty, and other members of the Parisian elite in attendance. Maria had by then taken the opera establishment by storm, and “reigned like a goddess” on the world’s most prestigious operatic stages. However, this global phenomenon didn’t just happen by chance. Apart from her formidable talents and stage presence, Maria was known for her uncompromising dedication to both musical perfection and dramatic interpretation. On stage, she poured her soul into the lines she delivered and transformed herself into the characters she portrayed. “The main thing, I believe, is not the libretto, though I give enormous attention to the words, I try to find Truth in the music.”

In the last two years of her operatic career on stage, Maria delivered legendary and moving performances. “I consider myself privileged, because I have been able to bring from the soul and the mind, that work hand in hand, and have been for brief moments capable of giving it to the public and being received by the public.” “So, it’s one of the greatest powers one can have, at the service of one of the greatest arts which is singing, music.”

In October 1973, Maria began a world recital tour with the tenor Giuseppe di Stefano, and it ended in Sapporo, Japan, on November 11, 1974. It was the last time the world ever heard Maria sing in public. Although Maria’s successes were enormous and her talents were prodigious, her much- deserved honors came only after her departure.

Maria’s title “La Divina” comes not only from the profound admiration that people have for her, but also from the Divine qualities she radiated. “Two days ago, my inner Master (Supreme Master Ching Hai) told me that She used to be Maria Callas in one of Her previous lives.” “It turns out the reason Maria Callas’ singing can strike such a chord in people’s hearts is that her voice is the ‘Voice of God’.”
