United States, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, supports Burundian and Congolese refugees in Rwanda.

The US has donated US$5.5 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide vital food and nutrition assistance to more than 138,000 Burundian and Congolese refugees and asylum seekers in Rwanda. The funds will be used to continue the WFP’s program of cash-based transfers, which allows recipients to select and purchase food locally. In addition, specialized nutritious foods will be given to children, vulnerable expectant and nursing mothers, and porridge will be provided to refugee and host community students each school day. This latest contribution is in addition to US$3.5 million given by the US to assist in November 2019. Our heartfelt appreciation, United States, for your continued support and generous donation to help sisters and brothers in need in Rwanda. Many thanks also, World Food Programme, for your humanitarian work. May all precious beings find stability and flourish in Heaven’s grace.

Netherlands to take significant climate initiatives after Supreme Court win for green activists. Following the world’s most successful lawsuit by climate litigation activists from the Dutch non-profit Urgenda Foundation, dedicated to a sustainable society, the Netherlands government has introduced a €3 billion package to reduce emissions. Some of the measures include a 75% reduction in coal plants’ capacity along with subsidies for farmers who wish to leave the livestock industry and homeowners to use less concrete and grow plants instead. Of the total amount allocated, €2 billion will be spent on rooftop solar and other renewable energy sources. Eight million metric tons of emissions are expected to be saved from these endeavors in 2020 with extra benefits of cleaner air, more biodiversity, and lower power bills. We are excited to hear of your wonderful win for the planet, Urgenda Foundation, and our heartfelt appreciation, Netherlands government, for your Earth protecting initiatives. The Netherlands is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Humanitarianism recipient and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Earth Guardian and Animal Protection laureate. May all your eco-conscious endeavors reap fantastic results in the overflowing love of the Divine.

Australian entrepreneurs develop method to replace plastic with sugar cane residue.

Mark Appleford and Stuart Gordon have developed a technique to create a biodegradable paper-like material from sugar cane residue that has the functional characteristics of plastic. They have created a company called Varden and received adequate funding to start production, which will initially create 20 million coffee capsules per year. Their technology uses a method called thermoforming, which heats the material so it can be pressed into the desired shape. Way to go Varden, Mark Appleford and Stuart Gordon, for your ingenious project to develop an alternative to plastic from unused sugar cane. May your company inspire others to quickly move forward to create earth-friendly materials to preserve the precious resources of our wondrous planet.

Indian man gives HIV-positive children hope for the future.

Thirty-three-year-old Mahesh Jadhav, from Belagavi, India takes care of orphans who are HIV-positive, providing them with shelter, food, medicine, education, and most importantly, lots of love. Mr. Jadhav started by adopting one child in dire need in 2010 and within a few months, he was caring for 55 youngsters, subsequently starting the Mahesh Foundation to help the children. As finding housing for all was challenging, his family donated their ancestral home to the Foundation and moved to rented quarters. In 2018, Mr. Jadhav started Utkarsha Learning Center that incorporates the arts into the traditional school curriculum and educates both HIV-positive and specially-abled children. In 2019, the thoughtful man started a hostel in the same building named Asha Kiran, which means “A Ray of Hope.” We humbly thank you for compassionately caring for these beautiful children, Mahesh Jadhav. May Heaven bless you and your young ones with long, healthy, and happy lives in the loving embrace of the Providence. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Touchingly present Mahesh Jadhav the Shining World Compassion Award along with US$10,000 in loving support of your noble work and devotion to the precious youth, with high esteem, gratitude and lots of love. May you, all involved and the children you care for, be forever blessed by the Divine with happiness and love all your lives.”

Coming up, more vegan meat options readily available in United States. We are going to pause for a moment to step out and listen to the calming sound of the falling rain. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more gladdening news.

Fallow deer population increases in Turkey, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate.

After 54 years of conservation efforts, fallow deer, or alageyik, has seen its numbers rebound from seven to about 500 in southern Turkey’s Antalya Province, where the deer originated. These efforts include setting up 112 protected areas with 24-hour surveillance as well as establishing feeding stations, planting fruit trees in the safeguarded areas and providing veterinary care when needed. Time to relax and feel good with the joke of the day we’ve picked for you. It’s entitled, “Identical.

A pair of identical twin sisters worked together in their own boutique vegan grocery store. After 20 years, one of the sisters got married and moved away. The next day a regular customer came into the store and said:

I never could tell you two apart... Was it you or your sister who moved?

And now we have a heartline from Yu-Xuan in China:

I am grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for establishing Supreme Master TV for us. This TV station is like a compassionate tour guide, leading us from a confusing world in which one cannot tell directions to a bright avenue. I like the Supreme Master TV very much. After watching the colorful programs, I feel joyful. At the moment of watching, I always feel there is an indescribable and formless energy gently surrounding me. Supreme Master TV is so beautiful, and I wrote a short poem.

The shows are like best medicines to heal the multitude who are lost Cheerful music and dancing please the body and mind

Dharma lectures open the wisdom Severing mundane gains for ascetic life to save all beings

Promoting environmental protection to save the earth An ancient Master who gives up Herself to saves others

I like the programs on TV very much. I am grateful to Supreme Master for promoting environmental protection in the programs. To protect the environment is so important for our planet. The temperature of our earth is getting higher gradually, and the animals living in cold areas are losing their habitats. You have proposed environmental protection suggestions to many countries, and You have used Your Supreme power to save animals, humans, and the whole world. You are the Supreme Master.
