In today’s news, Kenya receives nutritional support from World Food Programme, comprehensive review upholds effectiveness of distancing and protective equipment, lockdown in Abu Dhabi spells freedom for wildlife, scientists in Russia and Germany propose sodium batteries to replace lithium, Buddhist temple in Tokyo gives shelter to homeless migrants, major restaurant chain in United States launches vegan chicken, and UN ambassador will fly 7,000 kilometers to study migratory birds.

United Nations provides cash and sustenance in Nairobi.

The UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has received contributions from the United States, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, Finland, Poland and Sweden to complement the government’s relief programs. WFP will be able to assist almost 280,000 individuals with monetary and nutritional support for three months. Families will get about US$10 per week, which will cover half of their food needs. The organization will also partner with the country’s Ministry of Health to distribute fortified flour and therapeutic food to the children, mothers and elderly who need it most. Our heartfelt gratitude, United Nations World Food Programme and generous donor countries. May your responsive oneness with suffering humanity touch Heaven’s heart and encourage the arrival of brighter days.

Evidence indicates benefits of safeguards to prevent disease.

An international research team led by McMaster University and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton in Ontario, Canada, investigated the documented effects of physical distance, masks and goggles on the spread of COVID-19. The doctors and academics sifted through 172 studies from 16 countries on six continents. Their findings show that transmission of viruses decreases as people are farther apart. The use of face coverings can greatly reduce the risk of getting sick, especially with N95 or similar respirators, as opposed to disposable models. Likewise, shielding the eyes lessens the likelihood of being infected. These measures are therefore recommended in all public settings. Our sincere gratitude to the diligent researchers for providing clarity on the effectiveness of distancing and protective equipment. May we take the necessary steps to ensure our own health and the well-being of others, in Divine wisdom.

Up next, lockdown in Abu Dhabi spells freedom for wildlife. We will pause for a moment to thank the real estate developers who envision and build homes and other buildings that create communities. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more glorious news.

Greetings, ingenious viewers! I’m Teo the vegan Tiger. Some say I am graceful, agile and fast. My capabilities are due to my plant-based diet. Be vegan, like me. Did you know you can use rice water to replace electrolytes and cure a bout of diarrhea? It’s easy! Put ½ cup of brown rice and 3 cups of water in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, and then turn down the heat a little to cook the rice at a low boil for about 45 minutes. Pour off the rice water through a strainer, store it in the refrigerator and drink it throughout the day. And don’t forget to eat the rice as well! It’s a mild and easily digested food – just right for a sensitive digestive system while you’re recovering. Thank you for tuning in and love you a lot for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now for the weather around the globe.

Nature thrives as human activity is restricted.

While Abu Dhabi was under a strict lockdown, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) observed that flora and fauna welcomed the reductions in traffic, noise and air pollution. For example, mountain gazelles were seen near an urban golf course. An Arabian tahr was sighted at the base of Jebel Hafeet for the first time. Sea turtle nesting increased along the mainland coast. Populations of flamingos and black-winged stilts improved as well. Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD commented, “The several months of ‘Stay at Home’ measures have showcased the real and apparent impact of human and business activity on the environment.” Congratulations, Your Excellency Dr. Al Dhaheri and the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, for your observations and insights. May the natural world continue to flourish as people everywhere become better caregivers for Mother Earth.

Researchers advance storage cells made with alternative metals.

Until now, the high energy density of single-layer lithium-ion batteries has been unrivaled. However, when a team of Russian and German scientists discovered that stable multilayer lithium structures are possible when the element is sandwiched between graphene, this opened up the possibility of using a less expensive material. When the researchers used a computer simulation to test sodium, they found that multiple layers of the metal made the graphene sandwich more stable than before. If the virtual results are borne out in an actual laboratory model, we could soon see a new generation of sodium batteries that will be much more affordable and may even have greater capacity than their lithium predecessors. Our compliments and gratitude, Russian and German researchers, for your efforts to develop portable power that is at once cost effective and environment-friendly.

Unemployed workers take refuge in Tokyo temple.

The number of young people coming from Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam, to work in Japan has grown rapidly in recent years. With the arrival of COVID-19 in early 2020, many of these individuals suddenly lost their jobs. Nisshinkutsu, a Buddhist temple in the country’s capital, has been a haven for these migrants. Jiho Yoshimizu heads the Japan-Vietnam Coexistence Support Group there and has recently been receiving an average of 15 requests for help daily from Aulacese (Vietnamese) around Japan. Those in Tokyo may stay at the temple, study Japanese, take turns cooking, look for employment and help the nuns prepare shipments of food and face masks. Our hearts are warmed by your kindness, Jiho Yoshimizu and the nuns of Nisshinkutsu! May the Buddha bless you abundantly for providing relief and hope to tender souls in need.

Coming up, major restaurant chain in United States launches vegan chicken. We will take a few moments to feel grateful for God’s guidance and protection on our journey back Home. More praiseworthy news when we return! Please stay with us here on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Relevant News for a Transcending World.

Customers can now request vegan entrees at El Pollo Loco.

The fast-food chain that began in Mexico and is now popular throughout the Southwestern United States, introduced Chickenless Pollo in February 2020. At the time, it could not be considered animal-free because it contained an enzyme from eggs. But patrons spoke up through social media and asked the company for a plant-based version. Within a few months, the recipe was changed and by July, all 485 restaurants were offering vegan tacos and burritos. In an interview with US magazine, VegNews, El Pollo Loco’s president and CEO, Bernard Acoca, said, “It also allowed us to take a step further in the plant-based space and continue our long-term commitment to diversifying our menu with Better-for-You options.” Bravo, Bernard Acoca and El Pollo Loco! May your business continue to flourish as more meatless menu items come online, for a happier and safer planet.

Award-winning conservationist plans to follow ospreys from Scotland to West Africa.

Sacha Dench, the co-founder and CEO of Conservation Without Borders and a UN ambassador for migratory species, is laying the groundwork for her next aerial expedition. In 2016, she tracked Bewick’s swans from northern Russia to the United Kingdom using a motorized steerable paraglider. The adventure inspired millions of people to connect emotionally with wildlife and become aware of the many challenges facing the birds. Now Ms. Dench is preparing to fly with ospreys as they travel south for the winter. Along the way, she will record her sightings of manatees, whales and other aquatic mammals. Thank you, Sacha Dench, for your flyway approach to protecting migratory birds and solving environmental problems on the ground. May many more hearts be touched by your innovative and courageous work, in Heaven’s radiance.

And now, we have a joke of the day to relax your mind. It’s called, “Reasoning.”

William and Emma were having an honest conversation about their life situations: "I got married because I was tired of cooking, cleaning the house, and washing clothes..."

"Amazing! I got divorced for the same reason."

And now we have a heartline from Huei-Hwa in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

Thank you, Supreme Master TV, for broadcasting so much positive and inspiring news and many teachings, which benefited me immensely. Not only have I been changed positively, but I have also taken the opportunities to spread these positive thoughts to the public in my speeches. Supreme Master TV is like an educational platform for people to continue lifelong learning from many wise teachers, including our loving animal friends. Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, for founding the television channel. Thank you, the Supreme Master TV team, for your devotion in spreading wisdom and love to the whole world. Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, for Your wise words and loving power, which have informed people and uplifted their spirits.
