Quetzalcóatl’s teachings suggest that true contentment arises not from fulfilling every desire, but from transcending them and recognizing that true happiness comes from within, rather than from the pursuit of external desires. PUTTING A BARRIER TO DESIRE “And He was saying: When I want something, my wish moves. Desire brings possession taken by the hand. And possession creates compromises, and compromises tie up inside and outside. If the hand of life doesn’t give us what we wish for, we are unhappy. If it gives us what we wish for, we are happy, but we turn to wishing with more energy. Few are the wise who know how to stop and build a barrier to desire. They are the ones who are ‘above happiness and unhappiness.’ They are the ones who walk without walking, and who flow without obstacles. They are like a river, like the flowers, like the birds. Do they wish for something by any chance? And due to this, don’t they have already everything? Few, very few are those who ‘do without doing.’ They don't need ‘anything’ because they have ‘Everything.’ In the One is the satisfaction of all needs.” THE NEW EARTH “And He was thus saying: Brothers, keep on looking for yourselves this night which illuminates itself with unbalance and gets drunk on aberrations. Keep on looking for yourselves in this illusion where acts group together and shoot themselves to collide and hurt. Keep on meditating towards the inside, and little by little you will see the brightness of the New Day. Because that Day will be born within you. And that Day will fill up the Earth. Yesterday was only a sketch. Today is a promise. And tomorrow will become a reality. Tomorrow is very close. Nevertheless, the labor pains of tomorrow are and will be very hard. But don’t be afraid, they are the pains of the Good News. I have held in my arms the New Earth. I have pressed it against my heart and have kissed it on the forehead. Someday, when we stop to talk about our journey, I will tell you how it was. Now we must prepare everything for its arrival. Peace and Love in all beings. Time has passed, Reality is already here. Paradise is on Earth. The doors of Eternity are open... Now! Search and you will find!”
