“Hi, my name is Nitin Mehta. I’m the founder of the Young Indian Vegetarian Society. We are a campaigning organization; we promote a vegetarian and a vegan lifestyle. […] I think it’s now scientifically proven with all the evidence that if we carry on the way we are, the planet is going to be in real danger. Already we are seeing the effects of climate change all over the world. And the fact is that the biggest cause of this situation is meat consumption and the billions of animals that are raised and killed, which are destroying our rainforests and destroying the seas, oceans, [and] the land. So, what we’re talking about is not just a personal influence of compassion, but we’re also talking about the survival of this planet. So, that’s what I think is so important. Bring compassion into your life as much as you can, as much as possible. And you need to meditate every day. You need to remind yourself that compassion is the cornerstone of everything. Ahimsa means basically non-violence towards any living being. Be it a man or animal or an insect, you avoid harming any living being.

The thing that I really liked about this book (‘Love Is The Only Solution’) that Supreme Master [Ching Hai] has written, She’s cajoling us, She’s requesting us, ‘Please, please go vegan.’ And try, start this lifestyle which will be so, so good, not for only you, but for the whole world.”

“I’m a vegan psychologist, author, speaker, and presenter, and I do a lot of training and development work. But my key aim is to help vegans all over the world to be the best they can be, to bring their gifts to the world, to contribute collectively to a world we all want to create. […] I think a book on love at the moment is absolutely essential. And I think what this book does is to really look at the big picture – the systemic reality of how all of our systems and all peoples interact and everything we do contributes to the whole. But it also provides the tools and techniques that you can start to make the changes in your own life.”

Up next, we have a vegan multilingual singer, writer, artist and former winner on the French TV series, “Je passe à la télé,” Ms. Jayne Kadenge. Let us hear the song “I Believe Only in Love,” adapted from a poem written by Supreme Master Ching Hai, performed by Ms. Jayne Kadenge.

Our next exceptional vegan guest speaker is a cardiologist, who views the whole foods plant-based diet as an essential healing tool, Dr. Baxter Montgomery. At his clinic, Montgomery Heart and Wellness Center in Houston, Texas, Dr. Montgomery recommends a high-raw, plant-based diet for patients dealing with a variety of cardiac issues and other chronic conditions.

“I had trained in the world’s largest medical center – at that time, it was about two decades. And in addition to that, I had 15 years of medical training, I had access to the best technology there was in medicine. But despite all of this, when applying natural plant foods to individuals with advanced health conditions, the patients turned around in a way that I had never seen before.

This night is about love being the solution. I think it’s also important to mention that we should love ourselves and our children enough to nourish ourselves with a minimally process plant-based diet. We can pass on recipes to the next generation that are plant-powered and delicious. We can extend our compassion and support organic fruit and vegetable farmers. This helps in turn to keep our food healthier and in turn to help avoid chemical herbicides and pesticides being latent in our foods. When we are healthier, we can be a stronger force for positivity within the world. So, let’s eat well, be well and live well as we embrace an optimal nutritional lifestyle.”
