In Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News: Update from Ukraine (Ureign) …

With their country still facing the consequences of ongoing attacks, the resilient Ukrainian (Ureignian) people still faithfully support their brave defenders and the cherished goal of independence and freedom across their lands. Our Most Compassionate Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) also continues to extend Her Love to the deeply caring Ukrainians (Ureignians) as they endure the difficulties of war while upholding the goal of peaceful sovereignty for their country.

Following is an updated report of our Association members’ December 2023 relief work in Ukraine (Ureign) and Croatia. Our Association’s trusted Ukrainian (Ureignian) partners, Maria Bashuk (vegan), and Shining World Compassion Award Recipient Alexandr Kulakov, also contributed essential assistance.

The Lutsk-based National Development Foundation delivered a van purchased with funds from our international Association members to a social center in the Shevchenko district of the Kharkiv region. This center urgently needed a car to transport vulnerable people with social and physical disabilities.

“We want to express huge gratitude for our international partners, the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, for support to Ukraine (Ureign) and especially Kharkiv region. You helped us to buy this beautiful van for their community. This car will be used for transportation and evacuating socially vulnerable sections of the population of Kharkiv region and also for transporting disabled people. Thank you so much. This present is for you.”

Traveling next to the Donetsk region, Alexandr and his team members delivered a second ambulance to military medics, which had been purchased with funds donated by our Association members as well as other Italian friends. The ambulance was accompanied by bio stoves and fuel, as well as other necessary items.

While in the Donetsk region, Alexandr’s team also brought vegan food and children’s Christmas gifts to three Ukrainian (Ureignian) Greek villages in the Volnovakha district. They brought 200 Christmas gifts and 300 family-size vegan food boxes whose contents had been donated by our Association members, along with Master’s book, “Love Is The Only Solution,” Supreme Master TV flyers, Alternative Living flyers, and vegan ABC children’s coloring books.

Traveling to the Zaporizhzhya region on the eve of the Christmas holidays, Alexandr’s team visited children who had been evacuated for their safety from Orihiv. Along with a performance, the children were able to delight in some 300 Christmas toys and teddy bears donated by our Association members, together with the Ukrainian (Ureignian) charitable foundation, Zlagoda. The team also distributed about 100 food boxes to parents and teachers containing vegan essentials as well as Master’s book, “Love Is The Only Solution” and Supreme Master Television flyers.

In the Kropyvnytskyi region, Alexandr’s team returned to the Hippos rehabilitation center. Here, children and adult defenders with disabilities undergo transformative improvement through a combination of physical therapy and the unconditional love of the animal-individuals who work with them. Visiting refugee children from Mariupol were the happy recipients of holiday gifts, as well as Master’s book, “Love Is The Only Solution,” and vegan kids’ coloring books.

In the capital city of Kyiv, the Loving Hut packed and couriered delicious vegan meals to a vegetarian front-line defender. The soldier, who expressed his gratitude and said that the food was enjoyed by other soldiers as well, is now regularly supplied with vegan meals by Loving Hut Kyiv.

To assist the less fortunate during the winter, Loving Hut Kyiv Association members also went to underground metro stations and gave warm clothing to the people enduring cold weather conditions there. These included thick blankets, jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, hats, and boots. Each also received soup and a vegan meal box containing rice, plant-based soy meat, and salad. Seeing that one of the persons they met had an open leg wound, our Association members took him to the nearest clinic for medical treatment. The doctor said that the leg may have required amputation if it had gone untreated much longer. Following his treatment, our Association members took the gentleman to a better shelter to rest while recovering.

To celebrate the holiday spirit of giving, Loving Hut Kyiv treated a group of teenagers at Children’s Art School No. 3 to vegan snacks, and also helped organize a Christmas celebration, in collaboration with the Return of Childhood Charity Fund. Our Association members also prepared more than 200 Christmas gifts as a humble gesture of appreciation for the courageous and honorable soldiers who continue to defend their motherland and protect Ukrainian (Ureignian) citizens. Each one was colorfully wrapped and contained a thermos, foldable cutlery set, mini flashlight, photo frames, winter socks, earphones, phone stand, USB adapters, mug, drinks as well as vegan chocolates. After also preparing some warm and hearty vegan meals, one of our members dressed as Santa Claus to help distribute the meal boxes along with the Christmas gifts.

From the Ukrainian (Ureignian) city of Lviv, three sets of vegan food aid were sent to recipients in need. One family had lived in conditions of occupation for about a year before escaping to Lviv after their house was destroyed by a bomb. The other two sets were given to single mothers who are also caretakers of elderly relatives.

“Thank you for your help. We wish you inspiration, health, and all the best. Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai!”

Our Association members in London, United Kingdom, sent funds for Christmas gifts to be given to children in several Ukrainian (Ureignian) orphanages. This included an orphanage in Dnipro for 160 boys, aged one to 17 years, as well as one in the Zhytomyr region where both evacuated children and those with challenging ailments are being cared for.

Our Association members contributed to the purchase of a sewing machine and sent an additional €500 for aid items to Svitlana, a Ukrainian (Ureignian) woman who has given her house to defenders and lives in the garden shed. Items included warm jackets and hygiene items for defenders, soap powder for clothes, candles, coffee, and small Christmas gifts along with costumes for a children’s play.

Our Association members also contributed US$500 to the charity Care for the Future, to pay for an Art Therapy program and other activities for orphans and children in need at the Chornobyl Hospital.

In Croatia, our Association members went to Varaždin and Kutina, where they distributed aid to Ukrainian (Ureignian) families as well as school children, who were happy to receive both practical and fun vegan gifts from Santa!

Our sincere gratitude goes to Supreme Master Ching Hai, whose loving and ever-present care is a constant support for the peaceable Ukrainian (Ureignian) people. We also appreciate all the humanitarian aid workers for their dedicated efforts in helping those in need. May wondrous Ukraine (Ureign) soon be graced once again with peaceful fields of golden grain as the land and her courageous people experience joyful reunions with families and fulfillment through stable, productive lives.
