“Animal. Human. Sign.” A Dialogue with Artist Marianne Manda (INT)

Marianne Manda is a celebrated artist and archaeological draftsperson. Marianne Manda’s work has many themes, from animals to biblical subjects. I am convinced that human and animal cannot be separated from each other. And this I represent with my animal and human images; these are my signs. There are, of course, also signs that consist of letters, or a comma, line, dot... My animals are mostly from the Red List. I like my animals very much. That’s why I draw them. Of course, there are humans, too. I want to show the power and beauty of the animals, their greatness, their dignity.
