Today, we will explore the ancient practice of numerology, how it came to be, the history behind it, and the mystery and wisdom of numbers.

While numerology can be traced thousands of years back in ancient Babylonian, Egyptian, Chinese, Indian, and Greek history, modern numerology has been attributed to Pythagoras – the ancient Ionian Greek philosopher and mathematician. It was believed that everything in the universe could be explained with numbers and that numbers and mathematics make up the source code of the universe in which we exist. Numbers 1, 4, and 7 are said to be masculine numbers, which typically embody traits such as individuality and assertiveness, whereas 2,5, and 8 are feminine, which will typically embody intuition and nurturing. The numbers 3, 6, and 9 are the alchemical numbers of divine creation, transformative and magical.

There are many different calculations that can be made in numerology, which are essentially based on your birthdate and your name. The most common calculation we will explore today is your Life Path number. This describes your innate personality relating to who you are. It may explain the core nature of your being and provide insight and understanding of the experiences that you have on your life journey. Each life path will have a particular set of positive and negative traits, which may manifest in you based on your experiences in life. It is thought to be a guide to follow, a blueprint if you like, to allow you to become your highest and most authentic self.

To calculate one’s Life Path number, you will need a birth date. You first reduce each part of your birthday down to a single digit, 1 to 9, or master number – 11, 22, 33, and then add those digits up together to find your Life Path number. Now you have calculated your Life Path number, let’s explore what each one means.

Life Path 5s are communicative, empathetic, and drawn to water-related activities. They are adventurous by nature, and their lives are always full of action and often changing. These multi-talented individuals are highly adaptable and versatile, and have the ability to work in a variety of fields. They are very social creatures and enjoy engaging with others, always looking for something fun and new to experience. Life Path 5s need to go easier on themselves and others, avoid excessive judgment, and learn to accept imperfections in various aspects of life.
