Based on data from the World Food Organization, Dr. Stacy Pyett estimates 520 million metric tons of plant proteins were produced worldwide in 2018. About 50% was made into animal-people feeds and one-third was wasted during harvest, processing, transport, storage or by consumers. Per World Health Organization, the average adult human requires 50-60 grams and the Dutch allows 79 grams of protein on a daily basis for good health; thus, eight billion people globally need between 172-227 million metric tons of protein per year. If we all switch to a vegan diet, the 346 million tons of plant proteins annually is more than sufficient to nourish every single person on Earth.

Also, plant proteins use nearly 30%less land to cultivate.

Our big praises, Dr. Stacy Pyett, for your valuable insights. In Divine magnanimity, may everyone soon transition into a vegan lifestyle for abundance to prevail.
