From November 11 to 22, 2024, our Association members from various countries participated in the 29th annual United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. Our Association members formed two teams to promote veganism at the Blue Zone and Green Zone, the primary venues of COP29. Through vibrant banners, distribution of Alternative Living flyers, Supreme Master TV flyers, and Supreme Master Ching Hai’s books “Love Is The Only Solution” and “From Crisis to Peace: The Organic Vegan Way is the Answer,” along with delicious vegan meals, they passionately emphasized the urgency of adopting veganism as a key solution to addressing climate change. Our teams also engaged in numerous one-on-one conversations, discussing how going vegan can help resolve the climate crisis, improve personal health, and save countless animal-people lives.
To demonstrate how convenient and easy shifting to a vegan plant-based diet can be, our dedicated cooking team worked tirelessly to provide conference attendees with delicious vegan meals. The tasty vegan offerings received an enthusiastic and positive response, and in total, over 21,000 vegan sandwiches, 5,500 vegan sushi boxes, 1,100 vegan lunch boxes, and 4,500 vegan cookies were distributed. Our Association members also participated in discussion sessions, where participants exchanged information on the progress of vegan policy implementation in various countries. Additionally, our team presented over 100 national representatives with gift bags containing a heartfelt letter urging their presidents to champion vegan policies, along with the book “Love Is the Only Solution.”
Inside the COP29 Green Zone, at our booth titled “Loving Hut Vegan Restaurants, USA,” our team showcased Supreme Master TV programs and screened vegan documentaries. They also gave daily presentations showing the animal-people meat industry’s role in environmental degradation. Throughout the event, our team had the privilege of connecting with many attendees, including high school and university students, many of whom expressed interest in transitioning to a vegan diet. Those students returned multiple times, feeling Master’s Love emanating from the booth. Local youth members of NAYORA (National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan) also visited regularly and shared their enthusiasm for launching a project on the importance of the vegan diet.
During COP29, our team had the honor of presenting Master’s book, “Love Is The Only Solution,” to several esteemed global dignitaries. Among those who graciously received the book were Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva, daughters of His Excellency Dr. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and Shining World Leadership Award for Humanitarianism Laureate, as well as Her Excellency Emine Erdoğan, First Lady of Türkiye. Throughout the event, the media, both local and international, took an interest in our Association’s activities. Over 30 interviews were conducted, and our booth and teams were featured in various publications and media outlets. This helped amplify the message of veganism as a vital solution in the fight against climate change.
During the conference, one of our Association members saw the manifestation body of our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), and a bright light emanating from our team’s booth. The working team felt uplifted, and joyous, feeling Master’s immense Blessings and protection bestowed upon them every day. They are all deeply grateful to Master for providing them with this incredible opportunity to share the vegan message with the public and emphasize the urgent need to shift to a vegan world.
